STEMpact is a teen-led initiative under Uplift Hands, empowering underserved youth through hands-on STEM exploration. Through programs like Girls in STEM (gSTEM), our Science Club, and Leadership Academy, teens build confidence, develop essential skills, and cultivate a passion to lead and shape the future.

Our Mission
Empowering students to lead
Empower students to become community leaders by providing hands-on volunteer opportunities, leadership experience, and education outreach programs that support middle schoolers and underserved youth.
Our Programs
Student-led, mentor-supported
Four initiatives designed to build STEM skills, civic responsibility, and leadership from the ground up.
Girls in STEM (gSTEM)
Mentorship and hands-on workshops connecting young women with STEM role models and real-world experiments.
STEM OutreachScience Club
An after-school exploration club where students design experiments, build and launch rockets, and compete in TARC (The American Rocketry Challenge).
After-SchoolLeadership Academy
Students plan projects, run events, and build real experience in project management and public speaking.
LeadershipCommunity Outreach
Tutoring, donation drives, neighborhood cleanups, and volunteer support organized for local partners.

How We Operate
Student-led, adult-supported
Our STEMPact program is student-led and supported by an adult advisor from Uplift Hands. Students lead planning, outreach, and program execution while the advisor provides oversight, safety guidance, and access to nonprofit resources (insurance, fiscal sponsorship, and partner networks).
Leadership Team
The students behind STEMPact
President
Leads the STEMpact team, oversees all programs, and represents the organization at events. Works with mentors from Uplift Hands to set goals and guide the team's vision. Develops: Leadership, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
Vice President
Supports the President, manages internal communication, and steps in to lead when the President is unavailable. Helps coordinate between program leads and ensures projects stay on track. Develops: Collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
Outreach & Communications Director
Open Role
Manages publicity, social media, and community partnerships. Promotes programs like gSTEM and Community Outreach to schools and youth organizations. Develops: Marketing, storytelling, and community engagement skills.
Program Development Director
Open Role
Designs and oversees STEM workshops, challenges, and events. Works with mentors and volunteers to ensure sessions are educational and fun. Develops: Creativity, instructional design, and leadership.
